About Ben Lerner

A real estate professional with more than 16 years of experience, Ben Lerner serves as a Mortgage Advisor at Opes Advisors, located in San Luis Obispo, California. He focuses on helping each client understand their home-buying options by presenting and explaining all of the implications of each scenario. Ben Lerner makes a point of seeing each loan through closing. Rather than passing loans along to an escrow officer for finalizing, he is present to do the final closing paperwork with his clients.

Prior to joining Opes Advisors, he held a partner position at Commerce Mortgage, where he consistently achieved a ranking in the top three for loans closed. He is also named among the Top 1% Mortgage Originators in America.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Lerner earned a B.S. in applied developmental psychology at California Polytechnic State University. He balanced his studies with participation in the school’s cycling team, which won a national championship during his years of competing. Additionally, he helped launch a series of bike safety classes taught to student club members on campus and which was then adopted and is currently taught to San Luis Obispo County residents through the County Bicycle Coalition.
